Join us for a continuation of our First Friday artists series! For our December artist we are welcoming to the shop Brian Sillman.
Brian is primarily known for his highly-detailed representational works investigating the limits of narrative and meaning-making in the medium of painting.
Working in a strictly serial format, the native North Carolinian explores a unique theme within each body of work. Each series is approached as a sort of treatise, with a particular focus on research and process, always in dialogue with the meta-narratives of art history, theory, and criticism.
