Second Course: Wines of Northern Spain

Second Course: Wines of Northern Spain

Sat 10 / 1

Description

While the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain, the grapes and wine are made all over. Spain currently has the highest acreage of vines in the world and is the third largest producer of wine. Though much of the wine is produced for bulk consumption, in the northern part of Spain we find many small production, terroir driven producers. From Galicia to Barcelona, there is a dizzying amount of diversity in grape varietals and styles of wine available. In this class we’ll explore some of the classic wines of Northern Spain from the quirky wines of ‘Green Spain’ to the venerated reds of Rioja. Join us for an evening of tasting and discussion and maybe find a new favorite for your own homemade tapas night!
