Description
Join us for a free tasting behind the bar, and meet David of Garofoli, a beautiful winery out of Le Marche, Italy.
David Rendondi was born in Fermo, Italy, a beautiful village near the Adriatic Sea. He has degrees in Enology, Viticulture and Agriculture from the Università Politecnica delle Marche, as well as a Master’s Degree in Winery Marketing and Management from the University of Florence in Tuscany. Always eager to enhance his knowledge and understanding of wine, David worked at several wineries throughout France, Spain, Argentina and Italy as an assistant winemaker. In 2009 David began work in sales and marketing for the Marchesi Mazzei, one of Chianti’s most prestigious families since 1435. In 2014 David embraced the opportunity to work together with Federico Carletti, considered one of Tuscany’s leading agronomists, when he joined the sales and marketing team of Poliziano in Montepulciano. After his extended time in Tuscany, David was offered an opportunity to return home to his beloved Marche and in early 2017 he joined the historical Garofoli winery as Export Manager.
In 1871 Antonio Garofoli began producing wine for the pilgrims who came from afar to visit the famous Basilica of Loreto. In 1901, his son, Giocchino Garofoli, founded the Garofoli winery, which has long been considered the most historical and important winery of Le Marche. Today the winery is run by the family’s fifth generation and is known for producing prime examples of the regions’ two quintessential wines: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Rosso Conero, as well as a range of still and sparkling wines from regional varietals.
