Yes, it’s true! There are many reasons wine can cause headaches, but unless you’re the ~1% of the population with a sulfite allergy, it’s likely that sulfites are not causing your wine headaches. Did you know: 🫐Dried fruit and potato chips actually contain more sulfites than wine! 🍷The U.S. allows over 60 additives in wine including mega purple, sugar, and gelatin derived from fish bladder. None of which need to be disclosed. Some folks may unknowingly have sensitivities to these ingredients. 🍇Sulfites are the only additive required to be disclosed on a wine label, thus leading many to believe sulfites cause headaches. 🍭Some wines have high alcohol content, which of course, can lead to an unpleasant headache in the morning. 🌱While we’re not afraid of sulfites, we carry many low or no sulfite wines on out shelves if that’s something you prefer! 👨‍👩‍👦We are proud to carry wines from real families in small vineyards. All of our wines are hand selected, and we stay away from corporate wine companies that add a slew of undisclosed additives. We are proud to carry honest wines!
